Aberration, Part 24
Morning came, bringing with it the red sun's warm light.
While the waters were clear, and shallow enough to see the sea floor, there was no motion in it, other than the disturbances on the surface caused by the Stormrunner as it continued towards the island city of Haraeus.
Kane woke up eventually, lying back on the bed. Yhana was nowhere to be found in the room. He rolled over to get to his feet, and walked to the edge. At first, he was considering getting off, but that three-foot drop seemed a lot less friendly, now that he was but a few inches tall.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Yhana walked in, carrying a few strips of bacon. "Good morning," she said.
She had already changed into another outfit; jeans, and a vivid red shirt that looked as though it was actually supposed to be red. The sleeves were made up of a fishnet pattern, up until the cuffs, which were solid pieces of fabric again.
Kane returned the greeting, and sat down as Yhana sat next to him.
"Did you sleep okay?" she asked.
"Yep. The ceiling and I finally made up and I managed to doze off for a few hours."
"Glad to hear it." Yhana broke off a small piece of bacon and handed it to Kane.
"Thanks," he said, taking the piece of meat. It was about the size of his arm.
Yhana began to eat a strip of bacon as well, encouraging Kane to eat as well. He examined his food; it was a bit odd, how large it seemed. If he were back at full size it would have barely been a morsel, but now it was more than enough for him.
He broke off a piece with his teeth; it was slightly burned, but at least it was edible. It was better than his dinner last night anyway; after having slept in a fish crate for so long, his taste for seafood had all but disappeared.
"So," Yhana began, "we're gonna get you fixed up today."
"I know," Kane said. "And if you ever do shrink me like this again, you'll be careful not to just burn up the rest of my materials, right?"
"When I shrink you like this again," Yhana said, putting emphasis on 'when', "yes; I'll be more careful."
"Is there really nobody else you can play around with?" Kane asked, taking another mouthful of bacon. "I'm still not used to being a snack."
"I have the entire crew to select from. But everyone else is older than me and not as fun as you. Well, except for my snake; he just goes with whatever I do."
"So why not turn your attention back to him?"
"Ferrous, while he may be more filling and accepting than you are, is just a bit too tranquil. I enjoy feeling you struggle."
"Okay, that's not creepy at all..."
"And besides," Yhana continued, lying down next to Kane, "this whole same-subspecies thing makes it even more enjoyable."
"Even though it's direct cannibalism?"
"Heh, it's not like a Xeeok to be concerned about cannibalism."
"I was raised in a human community; there were barely any other Xeeok around."
"Ah, right. But predator and prey is a natural relation; we can't really help if the same subspecies get around to eating each other. And it's not like I'm planning on digesting you or anything."
"You'd better not be, anyway."
"Aww," Yhana emanated, curling up around Kane loosely, "don't you trust me?"
"I guess... I mean, I barely know you, and trust has never been something I just handed out."
"But you're beginning to trust me; I can tell that much."
Kane didn't respond; he simply continued enjoying his breakfast.
"Don't tell me you're done talking," Yhana said.
"Alright, I won't," Kane responded. He said nothing afterwards.
Yhana sighed, and then grabbed Kane, holding him against her belly.
"Hey, put me down!" he protested.
"I don't feel like it."
"I'd like to finish my breakfast before you get all playful."
"Oh, you're no fun." Yhana set him on the pillow next to her head.
"You just don't want to wait."
"I don't deny that. But still, I have to finish digesting my breakfast before I can really get around to you."
"Yes; please finish. I don't want to sit around in that. But really, can't you just carry me in your hand?"
"Like I said, it would be more convenient for the both of us if I swallowed you instead. And besides, I really want to."
Kane groaned. "I'm not looking forward to this."
"You'll get used to it."
"But we'll be going our separate ways at the island, won't we?"
"Yes, but I guarantee you, I won't be the only person who swallows you in your lifetime."
"...Thanks, that's a comforting thought."
"Hey, I'm just trying to prepare you."
"You know, I think I may have actually liked the human community; most of them shunned me, but at least they weren't trying to eat me."
Yhana laughed a bit. "Yeah, humans are boring like that."
Eren walked across the docks, and into the crowd. She had visited Haraeus a few times before, and had become familiar with it.
She wasn't here for fuel for the submarine; it ran on a self-replenishing energy core. She was here because she needed more demons, to power herself.
Haraeus had a rather nice trade of things that Syringes might need; demons, corpses, mechanical components, and so on. No, it wasn't legal, and so dealers had to be discreet; making sure that the otherwise-loudmouthed would hold their tongues, and never speaking of their business, outside of work hours.
While the city was fine with Syringes here, they would have preferred that Aberrating remained outside.
But Syringes knew who to look for, when they needed something. They needed to be crafty, if they were to be successful in their purpose.
Although, Eren had never wanted to follow that purpose. She was never interested in Aberrant warfare; her creations were made to protect herself, as well as her family. She made sure that they were guarded at all times. They still didn't know who sent the Aberrations that protected them, and that was the way Eren wanted it.
It was better that they believed her to be dead. And technically, she was; but she wasn't gone. But that was want she wanted them to think. She appeared as a monster, and she didn't want her family to be scarred by her.
Eren made her way into the city, heading into the less-savory parts. Anyone in the dark alleyways and scrap-littered streets of this section was prone to being mugged at any time, by practically anyone. However, Eren's size was a deterring, and she rarely found herself in trouble over here.
She did run into the occasional mugger, but when this happened, she would just walk on them. That usually solved the problem.
Eren continued searching; she would find the one she was looking for soon.
The Stormrunner docked at the edge of the city, a little after noon. The sun had made its way high into the sky by now, but it was quickly getting covered by clouds, which promised rain.
"So, we're here," Yhana announced.
"I noticed," Kane responded.
"You know what that means, right?"
"...Are you sure I have to go through with this?"
"You're not going to change your mind?"
"I don't feel comfortable with this."
"Kane," Yhana sighed. "There's no threat to us this time. Nothing's going to hurt you, and you have no reason to be bothered by this."
"I guess you're right..."
"Now come on, let's get this over with."
Yhana picked up Kane between her index finger and thumb, holding him under his arms firmly. She ran her tongue across her canine lips eagerly, and opened her mouth to accept Kane.
He closed his eyes, and didn't even bother struggling as Yhana set him on her soft tongue; his feet pointing towards the back of the throat.
Yhana sat up, and tilted her head back, sliding Kane into her pink gullet. Jugular muscles pulled him down, sending him down into her belly.
Kane would have sighed, had he been relaxed enough to stop holding his breath. He was just getting used to not being bathed in pitch-blackness again, and here he was, back in that same moist darkness.
Yhana moved into a reclining position, allowing Kane to slide into her stomach smoothly, rather than dropping into it. She let out a little happy moan as she felt what little weight he carried pass into her belly, and then fell back onto her bed.
"Enjoying yourself?" Kane asked.
"Mmm..." Yhana replied, not all there. Now that she actually had time to enjoy herself, and savor every detail of every feeling she was getting, she let it wash over her.
A Xeeok's stomach had more touch receptors than a human's or a dragon's. They could feel every little movement inside them, and to call it a pleasant sensation would be an understatement.
If they hurried about it, they wouldn't get they full experience, though; they needed to do it slowly, in a way that would let them accomodate the prey nicely. Yhana had the time to appreciate it fully, now, as opposed to last time, when she was too busy fighting for her life.
Kane sighed, at getting no response. He allowed himself to slide down, to fit the stomach's shape a little better. Most of his body was submerged in warm liquid; it was kind of like a bath.
"We should proabably get going," Kane suggested.
"Hang on, I just wanna lie here for a sec..."
"You didn't act like this the last two times."
"It takes a bit of finesse, to get everything out of this," Yhana replied, still a bit dreamily. "I just didn't get my chance before, is all."
"I see." Kane shifted his position a little, causing the stomach walls to contract a bit as Yhana moaned again. "So, when will the feeling pass?"
"When I decide to let it pass. The longest I've dragged it on for in the past was a few hours."
"But you'll be done here soon, right?"
Yhana responded by clenching down on Kane, giving him the hint to shut up. A few minutes passed, and she sat up, forcing Kane to change position again.
"Alright, I figure we can continue this later."
"You're okay in there, right?"
"I guess... I'm still not used to it, though."
"Aww, just lighten up and relax. Try to enjoy it."
"I am trying. This whole thing is just a bit unsettling."
"There's nothing to be worried about. Besides, you know I love you."
Kane went silent for a moment. "...What?"
"You know, in a strictly-platonic sort of way."
"For a strictly-platonic relationship, you sure make it intimate."
"I'm a predator. I can't help but get close with my prey."
"Right... Anyway, can we go now?"
"Sure thing. Let's just check with Immat, and then we'll be on our way."
Yhana stood up slowly, trying to be gentle with Kane, and then left the room.
